Inscriptions V - 2022
Read More

Inscriptions V is an installation comprising objects and prints. A series of floor based vitrines references museum display methods, with enigmatic objects placed above and within. Large framed works depict the reverse of early photographic prints, with curiously punctured surfaces. Stripped of the usual narrative supports, these works become a distillation of the displacement that underpins the archive and our methods of capturing time. This sense of displacement is exaggerated through the use of reflections and mirroring, creating a deliberate confusion between fixed and floating registers of vision.
